Who is Jesus

Sermon: Who Is Jesus?

When I was in college in India, many of my professors were atheists. They didn’t believe in God—yet somehow, almost every class turned into a discussion about why Jesus isn’t God.

Isn’t it interesting? These professors, were born Hindus but now claim to be atheists who didn’t believe in a personal God, couldn’t stop trying to disprove Jesus. I used to wonder—if you don’t believe in God, then why are you so obsessed with disproving Jesus?

Then I realized something profound:The name of Jesus stirs something in every heart—because Jesus is alive.

Every human, every spirit, every living thing recognizes there’s something about Jesus.

Look at the world around you.Everywhere, people are still asking: Who is Jesus?

  • The greatest philosophers discuss Him.

  • Scientists still investigate His claims.

  • Young people are talking about Him.

  • Religious leaders either fear Him, get angry about Him, or are secretly curious.

Who is this Jesus that millions of songs have been written about?

Universities around the world still study His teachings.Even other religions reference His miracles and life.

His name brings healing to some, joy to others, and intense hatred to those oppressed by the enemy. Why? Because hell fears Him, heaven loves Him, and humanity can’t ignore Him.

No one can escape the question: Who is Jesus?

Jesus, The Most Unforgettable Man

He was born in a manger, not a hospital. He never traveled more than 100 miles. He lived only 33 years.Yet 2,000 years later, He’s still the most talked-about person in the world.

No one debates other gods or prophets with such passion. But the world never stops debating Jesus. That should tell you something—There’s something about the name of Jesus.

Why So Much Hate for Love?

Why is every religious leader secretly studying His teachings?

Why is persecution the most intense where the name of Jesus is boldly declared?

If Jesus was just a man, people would’ve forgotten Him long ago.Yet generations later, He’s still the hottest topic.

Revolutionaries attacked systems or governments. But Jesus? He never led a rebellion—He was crucified.

He didn’t build armies. He had 12 disciples. And yet the entire world still feels His impact.

Even witches, warlocks, and satanists hate one name the most: Jesus. Why?

Because there’s power in the name of Jesus.

So, Who Is Jesus?

If you’re listening or reading this—you’ve been trying to avoid Him, but He keeps showing up in your life.

Hebrews 4:15 says:

“For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin.”

He was rejected, insulted, and misunderstood.

He wasn’t surrounded by the rich or powerful. He spent time with the poor, children, and sinners.

Jesus: Fully God, Fully Man

  • He was Man—and still is.

  • He was God—and still is.

  • He existed before time began.

John 1:1 says:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:14 says:

“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.”

He said,

“Before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58).“I and the Father are one” (John 10:30).

That’s why they tried to kill Him—because He claimed to be God.

Jesus: The Standard of Holiness

Jesus raised the moral standard :

No one ever in history had ever raised the moral standard to this level!

Jesus changed the definition of Adultery, He changed the meaning of Murder

  • Adultery went from an act to a thought of lust.

  • Murder went from an act to a heart posture of hatred in the heart.

He introduced a new kingdom:

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

He healed on the Sabbath. He forgave sins—something only God could do.He calmed storms by saying, “Peace, be still.”

He loved sinners.

No one else dared say, “Your sins are forgiven” — but Jesus did.

Jesus and the Cross

He could’ve called 72,000 angels—but He chose the Cross.

They beat Him, whipped Him, nailed Him, and mocked Him.Yet, He said:

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

What kind of love is this?

He cried out,

“It is finished.”

He wasn’t talking about His life—He was talking about your salvation.

Then He went to Sheol and preached to imprisoned spirits (1 Peter 3:19).Three days later, death couldn’t hold Him.

He rose again—the Holy Spirit raised Him, and hundreds saw Him alive.

Then He ascended, and He’s coming back for His bride.

But… Can I Really Believe?

You might ask, “How do I know Jesus is real?”

Let me ask you:

  • Did you test the soap before using it?

  • Did you analyze a mattress before sleeping on it?

  • Did you inspect every grain in your biryani before tasting it?

No. You trusted the experience of others—and found it to be true.

The Bible says:

“Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8).

Billions of people for over 2,000 years have believed in Jesus. They’ve applied His blood to their lives—and been transformed.

Will You Receive Jesus Today?

Jesus is not a religion. He is God, Savior, and Lord.

He is the only way, the truth, and the life.No one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

Will you surrender to Him today?

If you believe He died for you, rose again, and you receive Him as Lord—you will be saved.

Pray this prayer:

“Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God.I believe You died for me and rose again.Forgive me of all my sins.Come into my heart.Be my Lord and Savior.I give You my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Final Call

If you’ve made this decision today, your life will never be the same.

Jesus is not just a man. He is the living God.

The question remains for every soul on earth:

Who is Jesus to you?
