Holy Spirit Conference – Session 1

Sermon  Notes – Apostle Praisim Peter

1. Bible Reading

  • Luke 9:57–62 (CSB) – The Cost of Following Jesus

  • Luke 10:1–3 (CSB) – Commissioning the Seventy-Two

Bible reading - Luke 9:57–62 (CSB)

  • The Cost of Following Jesus 57 As they were traveling on the road someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” 58 Jesus told him, “Foxes have dens, and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” 59 Then he said to another, “Follow me.” “Lord,” he said, “first let me go bury my father.” 60 But he told him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and spread the news of the kingdom of God.” 61 Another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but first let me go and say good-bye to those at my house.” 62 But Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

  • Luke 10:1–3 (CSB) Commissioning the Seventy-Two / 70 1 After this, the Lord appointed seventy-two (some translations say 72) others, and he sent them ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself was about to go. 2 He told them, “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest. 3 Now go; I’m sending you out like lambs among wolves.”

The Call to Follow Jesus

When people said, “I will follow you”, Jesus responded:

  1. No Place to Lay His Head

    • Foxes have dens… but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head (Luke 9:58).

    • Following Jesus means a call to the mission field.

    • The original Apostles, missionaries who came to India, and others laid foundations without comfort or security.

  2. Proclaim the Kingdom Above All

    • Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and spread the news of the kingdom of God (Luke 9:60).

    • The Gospel is urgent and eternal—more important than family traditions or even burial rituals.

  3. No Looking Back

    • No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom (Luke 9:62).

    • Following Jesus means radical commitment—you can’t hold on to old life, old ways, or family excuses.

3. Prophetic Word for the 70

Vision:

God showed me a river with 70 floodgates open. When I was seeing it, the presence of God came upon me and He spoke to me, that 70 flood gates are open.

Biblical Significance of 70:

1 - 70 Nations – Genesis.

2 - 70 Elders – Moses imparted the Spirit upon them (Numbers 11).

Numbers 11:16–17 📖 “Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Israel… I will take of the Spirit that is upon you and will put the same upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you.”

3 - 70 Sent by Jesus – into the harvest (Luke 10).

Prophetic Release:

  1. 70 to the Nations – God will raise people here to touch nations.

  2. 70 Carriers of Anointing – Rivers of living water flowing, floodgates open over you!

  3. 70 Bringing Deliverance – Freedom, healing, deliverance breaking out!

4. Repentance Call

Confront Sin:

  • Sin, lust, anger, hatred, unrighteousness, selfishness.

  • Those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

  • You cannot claim to be Christian and continue in selfishness.

The Question:

  • Does your heart say you belong to God?

  • Or does your life resemble the works of the devil?

The Good News:

  • It doesn’t matter what you feel.

  • When you come to Jesus—He sets you free!

  • “Whom the Son sets free is free indeed” (John 8:36).

5. Altar Call

  • Commitment to Jesus – If you want to truly follow Him today…

  • Come forward and surrender your life.

  • This is the moment for repentance, freedom, and a new beginning.

Scriptures to Support

1. Galatians 5:19–21 (CSB)

Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. I am warning you about these things — that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

2. 1 Corinthians 6:9–10 (CSB)

Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, or males who have sex with males, no thieves, greedy people, drunkards, verbally abusive people, or swindlers will inherit God’s kingdom.

3. Ephesians 5:5–6 (CSB)

For know and recognize this: Every sexually immoral or impure or greedy person, who is an idolater, does not have an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for God’s wrath is coming on the disobedient because of these things.

4. Hebrews 10:26–27 (CSB)

For if we deliberately go on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire about to consume the adversaries.

5. Revelation 21:8 (CSB)

But the cowards, faithless, detestable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars—their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.

6. Romans 8:13 (CSB)

Because if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

7. Matthew 7:21–23 (CSB)

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, drive out demons in your name, and do many miracles in your name?’ Then I will announce to them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you lawbreakers!’”

By Apostle Praisim Peter

Opening Story

  • Share personal testimony: “I tried sharing the Gospel, but without success—until I was baptized in the fire of God. I had the Holy Spirit, but I lacked His fire and power. Once baptized in God’s fire, I saw lives transformed.”

Backup Sermon Ranchi:

Faith & Answered Prayer

Opening Thought: “Many people pray, pray, and pray — yet they never see answers. Why? Let me give you some keys from the Bible and my own life.”

Key 1- God ordained Mission Based Prayers

  • Reference: Exodus 3 – Moses at the burning bush. → For 80 years, Moses had no encounter. But when God spoke, He gave him a mission.

  • Every time the Holy Spirit comes, He gives us a mission.

  • Personal stories:

    • 2024 → God told me to start an event management company → daily miracles with clients & finances.

    • 2017 → God told me to go to Nashville → impossible on my own, but God opened the way, to this day I see miracles.

  • God told the Israelites to go to the promised land, and on their way they kept seeing answered prayers and miracles!

  • Lesson: When I obeyed God’s mission, prayers were answered. When I did things on my own, I failed (e.g., loan mistake).

  • 👉 Check if your prayers are aligned with God’s mission or just your own desires.

Key 2 – Specific Prayers

  • People pray vague prayers: “Lord, give me a car… a husband…” → but which one?

  • Personal stories:

    • Asking God specifically for a house → He provided a crore-rupee house.

    • Asking God for a wife → He answered with exactly the person I desired in my heart.

  • 👉 God is a God of details. Be specific with God. He delights in details.

    • Scripture: “You do not have because you do not ask” (James 4:2).

Key 3 – Stewardship Capacity

  • God won’t give you blessings that will become a curse.

  • Example: Salary ₹50,000 but asking for a ₹1 lakh loan house → not wise.

  • Some people can’t steward the existing relationships but want to marry, and want more people in their lives.

Marriage is stewardship: not for you, but for blessing another person daily.

  • 👉 Before asking, check if you have the capacity to handle the blessing.

    • Scripture: “To whom much is given, much is required.” (Luke 12:48).

Key 4 – Surrender

  • Jesus in Gethsemane: “Not my will, but Yours be done.” (Luke 22:42).

  • Personal story: Needed ₹50 lakhs for events → first was anxious, then surrendered. → Once surrendered, provision came in one week!

  • 👉 Surrender moves you from striving to resting in God’s will.

Key 5 – Encounter

  • Every breakthrough in the Bible followed an encounter with God.

  • Moses (burning bush), Paul (Damascus road), Jacob (Bethel).

  • 👉 Prayers are answered when your life is marked by an encounter with God.

5. Closing & Response

  • Lead the people into a time of prayer:

    • Commitment to God’s mission.

    • Asking specifically and wisely.

    • Surrendering desires.

    • Seeking a fresh encounter with Jesus.

  • Altar Call 2: Prayer for healing, deliverance, financial breakthrough, and a fresh encounter with the Holy Spirit.
