🔥 Sermon: "Don't Take His Mercy for Granted" – Palm Sunday Message
Once, I was sitting in a church, just resting in the presence of God. The pastor came forward and started teaching about giving and offerings. As they began to collect the offering, I noticed everyone around me giving generously.
I really wanted to give a sacrificial offering, but I wasn’t sure how much I had. When I checked my bank account, I had just a few dollars left. My heart sank. I wanted to give so much more.
Still, I made a decision.
I said,
“Jesus, I don’t have a lot of money. But here—take it all. This is my life. I offer myself to You once again. Everything I am is Yours. I am Your offering today.”
And at that very moment, something happened.
🔥 A Vision of the Cross
I was suddenly taken into the spirit realm. I saw Jesus—His face right before mine. I don’t know if it was a vision, but it was clear as day.He was on the cross. His body torn. It felt like a violent vacuum had pulled the flesh right off His bones. I could hear the crowd screaming. It was like The Passion of the Christ ×100.I heard His bones knocking together. The pain, the agony—it was unbearable.
Then He looked at me and said something like:
“I’m holding onto this cross—for you. So that you can have access to My mercy.”
At that moment, I came face to face with my sin—but strangely, the sin felt powerless. Because His mercy was greater.
❗ We Take Mercy for Granted
I realized something that shook me:
We take mercy for granted.
We say, “Oh, Jesus already died, so I can keep living how I want.”We confuse our identity in Christ with entitlement to mercy.
But the Bible warns us not to treat His sacrifice lightly.
💔 Mercy Was Not Free — It Cost Everything
The reason we have access to God's mercy today is not because God simply said, "It’s okay..."No — it’s because God’s judgment was placed on Jesus.
Mercy did not come for free. There was a heavy, holy, and eternal price paid so you and I could be forgiven.
We often think mercy is God saying,
"It’s okay... let it go..."But in reality, mercy looked like Jesus dying on the cross.
Every time we sin, we think it’s just a little slip-up — but every sin had a cost.
Every time you lied, Jesus endured mockery and false accusations.
Every time you lusted, another stripe tore through His back.
Every time you held bitterness, nails pierced deeper into His wrists.
Every time you were jealous, His crown of thorns pressed tighter into His skull.
Every time you chose pride, His robe was ripped off, exposing Him to shame.
Every time we say, "It’s my body, my choice," Jesus’ body was broken to give us a new nature.
His mercy is not cheap. It’s not a casual, soft “it’s alright.”It’s a bloody, suffering mercy that says:
“I took the punishment — so you wouldn’t have to.”
This makes James 2:13 even more powerful:
“Mercy triumphs over judgment.”But it only triumphs because judgment was already poured out — on Jesus.
📖 Hebrews 6:4–6 (AMP)
“…it is impossible to bring them back again to repentance, since they again nail the Son of God on the cross… and are holding Him up again to public disgrace.”
This isn’t talking about struggling Christians—it’s about those who fully experienced Jesus, then willfully walked away. They treat His sacrifice like it meant nothing. They re-crucify Him in their hearts.
📖 Hebrews 10:26–27 (AMP)
“For if we go on willfully and deliberately sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth… there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins.”
“…but a kind of awful and terrifying expectation of judgment…”
The judgment of God is real. But here's the good news...
🙌 Mercy Still Triumphs
📖 James 2:13“Mercy triumphs over judgment.”
God’s mercy overrules the judgment we deserve—if we repent! It's because, the judgement that we were supposed to get, Jesus took it!
📖 Exodus 34:6
“The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth…”
Our God is rich in mercy. It’s His nature.
❤️ The Gospel Truth
📖 Romans 3:23“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
📖 Romans 6:23“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Sin doesn’t just make life hard—it leads to death. But Jesus offers a gift: Eternal life through His sacrifice on the cross 2,000 years ago—and it’s still powerful today.
🕊️ Call to Repentance
My friends, I’m not sharing this to condemn you—but to bring you into the light of His love.
If there’s anyone here who says:
“I want to repent. I want to turn away from sin. I want to come to Jesus.”
Then come.
He will baptize you in His presence today. He will fill you with empowering grace—and you will overcome every sin.
Today is the day of mercy.
